LabTech Empore™ E-Series Technology

Efficient, effective, and economical technologies for proteomics and precision medicine development.

LabTech was founded in 2002 and, in 2018, signed a formal agreement with 3M Purification Inc. to acquire all production equipment, patents, formulations, process standards, quality control systems, and trademarks of Empore™ products, as well as obtain authorization to use related 3M® patents.

Empore™ E-Series is the latest advanced membrane technology designed for proteomics applications. It is highly versatile, enabling the entire sample preparation workflow — including protein cleanup, digestion, peptide desalting, and even fractionation and enrichment — to be performed in a single vessel.

E2Technology™ is a novel semi-automated approach for gel-based proteomics sample preparation. It is intended to minimize the labor-intensive gel cutting by processing gel samples on the filter rather than in the microtubes. It replaces tedious liquid transfer with simple low-speed centrifugation. It also avoids sample loss and gel pieces that may clog LC columns during LCMS analysis. Say goodbye to manual slicing of gels bands into small cubes. With our innovative Gel Crusher, simply place your gel bands directly into the filter and spin. On-filter in-gel (OFIG) sample preparation gives the old-fashioned gel-based proteomics a re-birth.

E3Technology™ is designed to process protein lysate samples for proteomics analysis. It excludes all the laborious procedures that are required by conventional approaches, and provides users digestion-ready samples in an unprecedented manner.

E4Technology™ is designed to prepare LCMS-ready samples in an unprecedented manner. The high efficiency and effectiveness along with versatility and low cost make it ideal for processing protein samples for basic research, clinical screening, and large-scale biomarker discovery. The “single vessel” nature of the technology also holds great value for “ultra-low-input” proteomics.

E5Technology™ is designed for enrichment of protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) from low-input cells. This innovative technology is intended to maximize the sensitivity of PTM analysis by simultaneously enriching modified peptides right after proteins are digested in the same filter. We currently have products that can enrich phophopeptides and glycopeptides.
