Analytical pyrolysis coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py-GC-MS) is a gold standard approach in polymer characterization by vaporizing complex samples with thermal energy into GC-MS for separation and detection. The resulting chromatograms, known as pyrograms, are often extremely complex and relying heavily on Py-GC-MS reference database to interpret. CDS Analytical and Mestrelab Research co-present a powerful mass spectral processing software: CDS Mnova Plugin, which uses Mestrelab's Mnova MSChrom and DB plugins, to perform the characterization of polymer samples through the search engine and Py-GC-MS database over 640 polymers. The unique subtraction feature empowers the user to complete multiple search from a polymer mixture.
